Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Speaking Machine Labs is a research lab of MeetStream Technologies Inc., a Delaware corporation ("MeetStream", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Our meeting infrastructure products have their own MeetStream Privacy Policy.

1. The short version

2. What we collect

Technical data. When your browser requests a page, our hosting provider receives the data that every web request contains: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser type and the referring page. This data is used to deliver the website, keep it secure and find errors.

Messages you send us. If you email us, for example to apply for a role or to propose a research collaboration, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, the content of your message and any attachments, such as a CV or links to your work.

Visiting this website does not give us any audio, video or meeting content.

3. How we use it

Where the GDPR or a similar law applies, our legal bases are our legitimate interests in running a secure website and in replying to people who contact us, steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract (for example, when you apply for a role), and compliance with legal obligations.

4. Who receives it

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the lab, under contract and only for the purposes in this policy:

We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it, to protect the rights, property or safety of MeetStream or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. How long we keep it

Our hosting provider keeps request logs for a limited period for security and operations. We keep messages and application materials for as long as we need them to respond and to consider you for a role or collaboration, and in any case no longer than two years after our last contact, unless the law requires us to keep them longer or you ask us to delete them sooner.

6. International transfers

MeetStream is based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California and other US states have rights under their state laws, and we do not discriminate against anyone who uses them. To use any of these rights, email us at the address below. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Security

The website is served only over HTTPS. We limit access to messages and application materials to the people who need them. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

This website is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows the last revision. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on this page.
